Big Bands Update
Amazon is a great tool, isn’t it, my friends? If you recall, earlier this month I wrote about Big Bands at Disneyland and lamented that the show is not currently available (more…)
Come Back, Teddi Barra
Hello, and welcome back to my thoughts. Today, I step away from looking at Disney classic films and shows. Instead, a long lost classic attraction, something replaced with… (more…)
Honoring the Legends
Hello and welcome back to my thoughts and musings and pleas to bring back some of the classic Disney programs of old. I am pleased to announce that Disney is taking a step in that direction. I’ll explain along the way.
In 1987, the Walt Disney Company created a program to honor those who had made an impact on Disney during their careers, whether through acting, animating, theme park design, or writing. (more…)
Thank you, Netflix
Not a long posting this time around, but I wanted to take a moment to appreciate Netflix for its steaming of several volumes of the Disney Silly Symphonies along some of the obscure, lesser known/released Disney titles such as Great Mouse Detective and The Reluctant Dragon.
As I have said from the beginning, my goal is a creation of a “Vault Disney Channel”, a la (more…)
Happy birthday? Happy Anniversary?
Today is July 17. What oh what am I going to write about today? Yes, I think I shall. Lets look at the 58th anniversary of the dedication of Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
Just one year and a day after Walt Disney announced to a national television audience, Walt Disney presented his park to a list of invited friends, dignitaries, and gate crashers (the third group seldom gets noticed). (more…)

Today, I have some housekeeping to address instead of dropping some general Disney knowledge. As many of you have noticed, my postings have dropped from once a day to once every few days while I was on vacation. (more…)
No Case To Big, No Case To Small
If you need help just call: Chip n Dale’s Rescue Rangers
Created by Walt Disney Television Productions, Chip ‘n Dale’s Rescue Rangers debuted on The Disney Channel on August 27, 1988. After the one time airing of “Catteries Not Included” the show was green-lit for a series premiere.
On March 4, 1989 Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers made its weekday debut, also on the Disney Channel. (more…)
My Favorite Disneyland Attractions Is…
Hello, and welcome to my Disney thoughts. I appreciate you taking a few moments of your day to read my thoughts and ramblings.
I’m stepping out of my traditional subject of Vault Disney, in that I’m not looking at Disney television shows that are no longer available to watch on television. I’m also not going to be pushing Disney to create a separate channel for classic Disney shows like Wonderful World of Disney or Mickey Mouse Club. Today, I want to focus on one of my pseudo-pet peeves.
It’s a question I get asked anytime I start talking about Disneyland: What’s your favorite ride at Disneyland?
The answer is: (more…)
Coming Attractions
Hi everyone, and welcome back to my thoughts and ramblings.
Today, something a little different. As you may have noticed, my postings have been less frequent over the past few days. (more…)
Big Bands at Disneyland
Hello, and welcome back to my thoughts and ramblings. Growing up, my favorite station on TV was The Disney Channel, if you haven’t figured that out by now. Even at five, going on six, I loved being able to see anything about Disneyland in particular, especially as we got closer to a family vacation to Anaheim. Any show would do. Even, and especially, Big Bands at Disneyland.
The series, hosted by Peter Marshall, was filmed at (more…)
