Current Attractions

AND we’re back! Sorry for the delay in postings lately, life has been crazy and Quest For Vault Disney was forced to take a back seat t everything else going on.

The second half of December is surprisingly quiet for Disney history, so instead of taking another tour of ExtinctAttractionLand or looking at movies or shows that need to be released for the vault, allow me to comment on some current Disney releases: Frozen and Saving Mister Banks.  I’ll be brief, and also spoiler free. Honoring the Legends

Hello and welcome back to my thoughts and musings and pleas to bring back some of the classic Disney programs of old.  I am pleased to announce that Disney is taking a step in that direction.  I’ll explain along the way.

In 1987, the Walt Disney Company created a program to honor those who had made an impact on Disney during their careers, whether through acting, animating, theme park design, or writing.   (more…)

Welcome to Pooh Corner

One of the original shows of The Disney Channel, the first live action Winnie the Pooh show debuted the day the Disney Channel launched on April 18, 1983.  The show debuted at 7 am EST, making it the first program to air on The Disney Channel.

Disney Archivist Dave Smith described the show as performers in costumes and masks in storybook a settings.  The show used a technique described as “advanced puppetronics.”
